This year’s forum ‘Exceeding Shareholder Expectations’ will be chaired by Super Cheap Auto’s Managing Director, Peter Birtles. Mr Birtles will discuss how the company optimised its working capital and doubled its share price in the last half of 2006. Super Cheap’s focus on working capital enabled the company to reduce inventories by 12% within 12 months. This in turn increased operating cash flow by $12 million, whilst sales and EBIT margins continued to improve despite difficult trading conditions. Importantly, the improvement in working capital enabled Super Cheap to fund its expansion from operating cash flow rather than debt.

This CEO forum offers participants a unique opportunity to discuss ways of improving performance at a time of intense pressure from shareholders, stock market observers and private equity investors.

Each Boardroom Breakfast is chaired by a company leader who will share their experiences and perspectives on the topic during breakfast, and then facilitate the group discussion.

The events will be held in Melbourne on 3 August and in Sydney on 9 August.

GRA has also been invited to present at SSCT on June 20, 2007. Carter McNabb will present Stock Exchange: reducing stocks to increase share price, a case study on how tight inventory management impacted the share price of one Australian company.
